With Summer ahead, it's time to start getting your car ready. Winter and Spring can leave your car messy. Road salt, dirt and mud can leave a mess on your car's carpeting and mats. Genesis 950 makes cleaning your car easy.
Genesis 950 is a cleaner unlike any other. It is a green, surfactant based cleaner. There are no harsh chemicals that can discolor or harm the material you are cleaning. Instead, Genesis 950 works with water to break the bonds of stains. This allows them to be lifted from the surface and rinsed clean.
Here are step by step instructions to properly clean your car interior using Genesis 950.
Locate the stained area. In this example, the salt build up is predominant. Over the course of winter it has actually grounded into the carpet. The carpet is also stained with dirt, mud and an ice tea that had been spilled on the floor. Through winter, the tea had frozen into the carpet and as it thawed and refroze, made it's way deeper into the carpet. 
The salt and stains are also covering the mat. 
Once you have determined what area you will be cleaning, remove as much loose debris as possible. This can be done by sweeping the area clean or using a vacuum as is being done in this example.
Because much of the salt has been ground into the mat and the carpet, not all of it will come up from vacuuming. If something does not come up using the vacuum, just leave it be. Once applied, the Genesis 950 and water mixture will break it down.
Once the area has been cleaned of any loose debris, spray the area with a mixture of Genesis 950 and water. The recommended cleaning ratio is 1 part Genesis 950 to 7 parts water. This ratio can be increased to a 50/50 mix of Genesis 950 and water. In this example the spray bottle was filled with 1/3 Genesis 950 and the remaining 2/3 water. Spray the stained area until it is thoroughly saturated. Both the carpet and the floor mats were treated with the same way.
After the mixture of Genesis 950 and water have set into the stained area, use a towel, rag or sponge to clean the area. Clean by gently rubbing the stained area. Be sure to use enough pressure to force the solution into the carpet fibers, but not enough force to cause damage to the carpet. In this example a bristle based sponge was used. Using too much pressure with such a brush could cause the fibers to be pulled up, so it is important to use such a brush with limited pressure.
After the area has been scrubbed, rinse thoroughly. Genesis 950 will continue to pull dirt and grime out of the area where it has been used to clean. In some causes, this can cause the lifted dirt and grime to create a film. Rinsing this are will flush everything pulled out by the 950 away. Rinsing can be done a number of ways. A sponge and bucket of water can be used to hand clean. Water can be used and then pulled up with a wet vac. In this case, a Bissell Spot Bot was used. Any carpet cleaning machine with an attachment can be used. This particular machine has a nice feature where straight water can be used and then distributed by pressing a trigger under the handle. In the photo, the fresh water being sprayed is visible. Simple apply the water, and use the machine to extract as much as possible. Because this is a large carpeted area and awkward to reach completely by hand, the carpet was cleaned with the machine using the Genesis 950 and water mixture prior to rinsing. The most prominent stains were hand cleaned using the sponge as seen in the steps above. The remainder of the carpet was cleaned with the machine using a 1/3 to 2/3 mix of 950 and water.
 Once the carpet and mats have been rinse, allow to dry and your car looks and smells like it was professionally cleaned!
This same process can also be used to clean leather or cloth seats. Soda, juice, ink, makeup or pet stains can be easily and safely cleaned from car seats regardless of what they are upholstered with.
Genesis 950 can also be used to clean the interior of your car. For such cleaning, it is best to use a ratio of 1 part Genesis 950 to 7 parts water. It will not harm your interior if you choose to use more, but Genesis 950 works hard enough that a little will do just what you need. There are several ways to clean interiors. It can be sprayed directly on the area, it can be sprayed on a rag to be used to clean or for more fine detailing, use it with Q-Tips to get to hard to reach areas are small spaces.
Genesis 950 can also be used on the exterior. It can remove grease, tar and oil from your vehicle's body, take dirt and grime off tires and hubcaps or detail grills and headlights. Use it to clean engines and transmissions. It can also remove grease, oil and tar from concrete.
